Do I need an account to use TRP Forge?
No. Everything works in your browser immediately — your characters are saved in localStorage. An account is only needed if you want to sync across devices or publish a public profile URL.
How does Bring-Your-Own AI actually work?
You paste your own API key from OpenAI, Grok, OpenRouter, Ollama, LM Studio, or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint. Requests go directly from your browser to that provider. The key is stored locally and never transits TRP Forge servers.
Is this addon-compatible? What versions?
Yes — round-trip compatible with Total RP 3, addon version 2.7.0, export format 157. Paste in an existing TRP3 string and keep editing, or copy your finished profile and paste it straight into the in-game addon.
What's free vs. paid?
Free tier: up to 4 characters, full editor, all AI features (using your key), public profile URLs, Discord sharing. There is currently no paid tier, and AI features will never be paywalled — you supply the key.
Can my guild use this for applications?
That's exactly what the public profile URLs are for. Each character gets a shareable page with an optional mature-content gate and a clean Discord unfurl.
